Frank van Velthoven is a Dutch composer, double bass player and saxophonist. Interested in all music that promotes improvisation, he likes to groove as much as to search for spiritual meaning; Heaven and Earth.
Although rooted in the jazz tradition with the great legends of modern jazz as his hero’s, Frank has branched out into ‘World Music’ with adventures in Latin, Arab, and African music and songwriting. Like many of his hero jazz innovators he has had a close ear to classical and contemporary composers and as a result has composed several ‘chamber’ pieces.
